May 2010 - Singapore
Monday, May 10, and May 11, 2010
Flight Hamburg - Dubai - Singapore
Sooner than I thought I ended up in beautiful Singapore again, mainly to arrange my planned studies there, but also to start looking for a home to move into since the plan was to commence my studies by October. Shortly after my return to Germany the military crashed into those plans by drafting me for military service, but even during my stay I had to learn a lesson about the Singaporean apartment market: rooms and flats are rented out on very short notice so you will most likely have to get to Singapore first and then start looking for a place to rent. Nevertheless, I once again had a great time with my friends, who wouldn't grow tired of showing me sights and introducing me to everyday life in Singapore. I was especially glad for Tina and Mikael putting up with letting me live at their place once again.

That day I had lunch with my buddy Amil and later met up with Jillian who is a Singaporean native and gave me a whole different view on the city.

MacRitchie Reservoir
Exploring the nature of Singapore. This headline seems fantstic, yet fits this day very well on which Tina and Mikael took me to one of the last relatively untouched patches on the island. Furthermore, it was the first time for me to see a real jungle - and wild monkeys.

Sentosa
I had been to Singapore twice before but never gotten around to see more of the world famous resort island than I had during ZoukOut 2009. Now, at the end of my third visit, I found the time to spend a day here. I set off alone and later met up with my friendly hosts at the beach.
再见新加坡!
Flight Singapore - Colombo - Dubai
It should take just a little longer than half a day to get home. What happened instead can be found in the Dubai-episode.
